Why I want to be an intern for Pure Heart Vision
When I came to Harding one of the things I knew I would need were relationships. Mentors, colleagues, and friends are all blessings from God, and Pure Heart Vision seemed like the perfect place to find it all. As I learned about the Internship and got to know Randy better, I realized that Pure Heart Vision would be a place to serve God, grow relationships, expand my own abilities and gifts, and learn from those who champion our faith.
I am 19 years old, and a sophomore at Harding University. I am majoring in Psychology with a minor in Bible. I come from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where I have lived most of my life. Back home I attend North Boulevard Church of Christ. Long term, I would love to pursue a doctorate in psychology and possible enter counseling as a ministry. People are my passion; how we work, how we think, why do what we do. My goal is to lose myself to being God's hands and feet to the world because I know that is the only appropriate response to such a loving God that we have.
My favorite verse is Hebrews 4:14-16 because I love how it shows how we relate to Christ. He is our High Priest and intercedes for us to God while we are so imperfect. Yet there is a difference. This High Priest is also the sacrifice. He is not just a sacrifice, but a perfectly empathetic sacrifice. All of this allows us to have confidence in approaching God and in the grace we have received. |
