Tanner Johnson (PHV Intern 2012-2013)
Why I want to be an intern for Pure Heart Vision

I appreciate long walks on the beach, but I’d rather engage in the powerful waves that lie along the shore! I’m not one to wait until I know the outcome of an action, I figure that out along the way, and make adjustments accordingly. I have no fear of what might happen while I’m in the midst of danger, if my mission has brought me into danger then I have no time to waste; obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal. I enjoy physical activities such as soccer, basketball, ultimate frisbee, and jogging. I also enjoy singing, watching movies, and reading books. When I grow up I want to have the heart of a child, one that’s pure and pleasing to God. If I had one wish, I would wish for wisdom so that I could help others with life changing decisions the way others have helped me.                                    ~ Tanner Johnson

Entering into college was very much a blind step for me. I had no idea what to expect, and I wanted to keep one thing close, something very important: my faith. When I met the people in this organization, I knew they were friends who would strengthen my faith. When I was became aware of the works and goals of Pure Heart Vision, I was immediately fascinated by them. I myself had little experience; I’d only helped fellow high school students with personal spiritual matters, never before had I been introduced to nor asked about a church’s conflicts. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to join. Strengthening my faith is second to why I want to be a PHV Intern. This is a great opportunity to give of myself in order to further God’s kingdom by helping his followers. Many people whom I love have their hands in this, and I’m honored to be given this opportunity to serve.
